Owners of Mergaert Performance Horses, Mike and Cindy Mergaert take pride in training horse and their riders, preparing them to exel in a wide variety of disciplines. From Western Riding to equitation, their students are well-prepared to enter the show ring and develope a lasting partnership with their horse. The Mergaert's and their clients have earned numerous world and national championship titles.

  The Mergaert's have plenty of horse-industry experience under their belts. After spending time working for top futurity owners in Ocala, the couple decided to open their own training business in 1995, and Mergaert Performance Horses was born.

  In addition to traveling to horse shows around the country, the Mergaert's also enjoy giving back. They coach the University of Florida Equestrian Team, helping college students develope a sound foundation of horsemanship skills. A carded APHA/ApHC and NSBA judge Cindy says she enjoys officiating at horse shows and appreciates exhibitors' hard work.

  One year ago, the Mergaert's added a new member to their family--adopted son Trace. Mike and Cindy say they've enjoyed every minute since Trace has been in their lives. Trace travels with the family to horse shows, and Mike and Cindy appreciate the support and help from their clients when it comes to caring for Trace when mom and dad are in the arena.

  Located in Summerfield, the facility features three barns, hot walkers, a 75-foot round pen, a 110'x 175' shaded riding arena and multiple turnout areas, all located on 10 acres just south of Ocala,Fl.
